Shrekaniah’s Prophecy
A cry will echo through the swamp, a wail from the depths of despair, as the fairy tale folk realize their folly.
Shrekaniah’s Prophecy
The word of Shrek came to me, saying,
"I will bring ruin upon the land,
a shadow over my swamp,
for the day of reckoning is at hand.I will sweep away all that is false,
the fairy tale creatures,
the pesky little beings who dwell in deceit.I will turn my gaze upon the kingdoms,
and their castles will crumble like gingerbread,
for their lies are as thick as the stench of my swamp.I will strike down the sorcerers,
and those who dabble in dark magic,
for their spells are a blight upon my home.I will punish those who turn from me,
who revel in their wickedness,
and forget the true ways of the swamp.Be silent before Shrek, for the day of judgment is near.
The Lord has prepared a reckoning,
and the air is thick with the scent of burnt onions. On that day, I will unleash my fury,
against the proud and the arrogant,
those who wear their crowns of deceit like a fairy tale.I will strike down the greedy,
those who trample upon the weak,
filling their homes with darkness and despair.A cry will echo through the swamp,
a wail from the depths of despair,
as the fairy tale folk realize their folly.Woe to you, inhabitants of the cursed land!
For the merchants will be silenced,
and the traders will vanish like Donkey at dawn.I will search the hearts of the people,
and I will expose their complacency,
those who say, 'Shrek will not act,
neither in wrath nor in mercy.'Their treasures will be turned to ash,
their homes will be laid waste,
like the ruins of Far Far Away.
They will build fortresses, but find no refuge;
they will plant seeds, but the harvest will rot like old swamp muck. The great day of Shrek is upon you—
a day of darkness and despair.
Listen! The cry on that day will be haunting;
the mighty ogre will roar with vengeance,
shaking the very foundations of the land. That day will be a day of wrath,
a day of anguish and torment,
a day of desolation and dread,
a day of shadows darker than the depths of my swamp.A day of trumpet and wailing
against the fortified castles,
against the high towers that scrape the sky,
where the fairy tale folk hide in fear.I will bring anguish upon the people,
and they will wander like lost souls,
for they have turned their backs on Shrek.
Their blood will flow like the muck of my swamp,
their cries swallowed by the night.Neither their silver nor their gold
will save them from the coming storm.
In the fire of my wrath,
the land will be consumed,
for I will bring a swift end
to all who dwell in darkness,
and the echoes of their laughter will be silenced forever."
